About me and my family

My name is Wolfgang Horlbeck. I was born on September 13th, 19.. in Chemnitz/Saxony.

I grew up in the village Altmannsgruen near Treuen/Vogtland, place of birth  and residence of my grandfather and my father.

In 1954 my grandparents Karl Hermann Horlbeck (July 4th, 1877 - June 15th 1963) and Clara Milda Heckel (September 17th,  1880 - January 28th, 1957) celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.  

My father was Max Artur Horlbeck (October 13th, 1909 - February 2nd, 1981).

and my mother Ilse Pippig (January 5th, 1917 - January 24th, 1998).

From 1965 to 1970 I studied chemistry at the Carl Schorlemmer Technical University of Chemistry in Merseburg near Halle. After graduation, I worked in Merseburg and in 1975 I was employed by the Technical University of Mining (Bergakademie) Freiberg.

In 1982 I married Gisela Krieger from Merseburg.

A few years ago I began to research the family history for Horlbeck (Hurlbeck and Horlebeck).
