The Schnierle Family

 

The first members of the Schnierle family – coming from Wuettemberg to Charleston/South Carolina – were the carpenter Johann Michael Schnierle (1778, October 8th Kuppingen – 1844, May 13th Charleston) and his wife Maria Barbara Munsch (1776, September 25th – 1836, April 17th Charleston).

 

 

The Couple had 5 children, all born in Charleston:

 

 

 

Anna Mary Regina Schnierle (1805, August 4th – 1895, May 5th)

 

In the year 1823 she married the founder of the „Siegling Music House“, John Zacharias Siegling (1791, February 13th Erfurt – 1867, October 31st Mount Pleasant).

 

They had 7 children.

 

 

 

John Schnierle (1808, May 1st – 1869, April 14th).

 

 

Frederick Schnierle (1810, January 7th – 1838, April 27th).

 

 

 

William Schnierle (1815, January 11th – 1875, March 2nd).

 

 

Eliza Schnierle (1813, February 28th – 1883, June 26th).

 

She married 1838, May 13th in Charleston Henry Horlbeck jr. (1800, October 28th – 1872, April 7th), a son of Henry Horlbeck sen. (1776, October 27th – 1837, December 18th) and his wife Margaret Buckingham (1778, May 2nd – 1835, February 22nd).

 

 

The 3 children of the couple Eliza Schnierle and Henry Horlbeck jr. were:

 

 

 

Frederick Henry Horlbeck (1843, July 25th – 1883, April 9th).

 

 

 

John Schnierle Horlbeck (1845, October 18th – 1916, May 17th).

 


 

Margaret Buckingham Horlbeck (1847, December 13th – 1873, May 14th).
